19th Annual World’s Championship Shrimp Cook-Off! 11/4


Gates open at 10:00 a.m., Sunday, November 4th for the 19th Annual World’s Championship Shrimp Cook-Off. Located in Las Palmas Shopping Center in front of Beall’s Department Store on Highway 100, this culinary tradition is expected to be even bigger and better! You can graze from booth to booth and sample their fare. Each competitor sets the price for a shrimp serving.

Dozens of professional and amateur will expertly prepare over one ton of fresh wild caught Gulf shrimp in a wide variety of ways from boiled to coconut to cocktails to fried and scampi. While munching on tasty shrimp you can shop for jewelry, collectibles, art and more from the vendors set up on the grounds. There will be a mini-carnival for the kids, balloon animals, face painting and games.

2012 Champions: Amateur Division: 1st Place- Team Ramrods; 2nd Place- Delicias Express; 3rd Place- VFW. Professional Division: 1st Place-PadreRitaGrill; 2nd Place-Sao Paulo’s; 3rd Place-Dirty Al’s at Pelican Station. Showmanship: PadreRitaGrill.
